White Med

Overview

The White Med or Sahel as the Egyptian locals call it, is the North Coast of Egypt, stretching along the Mediterranean Sea starting from Alexandria all the way to Marsa Matruh at the west tip. Beautiful white golden sandy beaches with turquoise crystal-clear waters will mesmerize you. The White Med with all its beautiful natural resources and vast coast is hosting millions of young people during summer; enjoying the summer houses and few hotels that were developed in the area to cater to the high demand. Attending summer events in the White Med is in vogue for all modern music festivals lovers.

Alexandria, Egypt´s Mediterranean port city in Egypt, was founded by Alexander the Great in 332 BC. Many movies were made about history unfolding in the Greek & Roman empires in this area of Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to a lighthouse ranking among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as well as a storied library that tragically was destroyed. Today the library is reincarnated in the disc-shaped, ultramodern Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The city also has Greco-Roman landmarks, old-world cafes and sandy beaches.
